At our Farm-to-Table Dinner, the flavors of the season come alive under the care of two talented chefs. Each brings a unique style, passion for local ingredients, and dedication to creating a meal that celebrates our farmers, artisans, and community. Together, they’ll craft a menu that is as memorable as it is delicious — a true reflection of Oconee’s harvest and heart.

Chef Jose Zambrano - My Story
Schooled in the French culinary tradition, Chef Zambrano built his career alongside some of California’s finest chefs before joining the Hilton Hotel chain in Newport Beach and Beverly Hills. After moving to Georgia, he opened his first restaurant, leading to the creation of Girasoles in 2005, following earlier successes with La Estrella and Zambrano’s in Athens.
At Girasoles, Chef Zambrano blends Mexican and Mediterranean influences into a vibrant “fusion” cuisine that feels both bold and light — a marriage of two rich culinary traditions. His firm belief in using the freshest seasonal ingredients guides every dish, with no microwaves or processed shortcuts in his kitchen. Instead, guests enjoy a true farm-to-table experience, crafted with creativity, respect for flavor, and a deep love for food that brings people together.



Chef Sage Patterson - My Story
At just 24, I’ve already spent nearly two decades in the kitchen — I started cooking as soon as I could see over the counter. What began as a family passion has grown into a career focused on celebrating food that is fresh, wholesome, and rooted in community.
For the past three years, I’ve been cooking professionally, and for the last year I’ve had the privilege of catering events throughout Athens — from gatherings at Hendershot’s to intimate private dinners. I especially love supporting local bands and bringing people together over good food.
This Farm-to-Table dinner is a chance to combine all of those passions — showcasing the incredible farmers and growers in our area while creating a meal that honors their hard work and brings our community together at the table.
